Codes 49 and 46 along with reverse slam when warmed up

Thanks for getting this new post started. I suspect you have a cable out of adjustment due to these two codes. Take a look at the info provided and let's run through the testing to confirm this.

Here is a video that shows the adjustment process. Unfortunately they don't have a process spelled out but the way to do this is you place the vehicle in neutral, remove the adjuster clip, remove the cable from the selector shaft (pictured below) and move the cable in and out to "center" the cable. Then reconnect it back to shift lever and install the adjustment clip. Then run it through the gears and make sure it engages each one properly.

Hi. Everything is adjusted properly. Although mine is a bit different than the picture you provided. The neutral safety switch is new and adjusted properly as well.

Okay. If that is adjusted properly then we need to continue on with the testing. Unfortunately you need a scan tool to confirm this issue. Do you happen to have one? If not, we most likely have a wiring issue or a PCM issue. However, I would not guess at this because that is not a cheap guess.

Let me know if you have access to a scan tool and then we can check to see if the PCM sees an open circuit when you unhook the sensor.

I only have access to one at Advance Auto and My car is just obd 1 anyhow. I have used there scanner and have gotten the same info as my SES lights tell me.

Shoot. Okay. Let me review the testing again and see if we can come up with a way to try and get the same info another way. I will let you know this afternoon.

I have tried to think of different ways to do this but basically the rest of that test is pointing to a wiring issue. So without the scan tool the only way to check this is to run new wires from the switch to the PCM as shown in the diagram. Clearly this is not desirable but the scan tool is needed to find out when the switch state changes which is the easy way to test the wires. Without that we have to run one wire at a time or do all of them. I would just go ahead and do them all if it were me.
