Hello Josh,

The first thing we need to do is scan the car for codes. I would do a CAN scan which is easy and you can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

and

Also, can you please check the floormat to see if it is holding the throttle pedal down slightly? You may have a throttle pedal position sensor that has gone out, but I am hoping a code will come back for it, also has this can had any water damage? Here is the throttle pedal and sensor in the images below, if it gets wet it will malfunction. Please run the codes and get back to me.

When you say it revs up without input, is that from idle or will it idle and then increase rpm without anything being touched? If it is from idle, I would look for a vacuum leak. It doesn't take much of a leak to bump up the rpms at idle. A quick way to test is to get a can of common carb cleaner or even an unlit propane torch. Then go out with a cold engine, open the hood and start it. Now start spraying or moving the torch around the lines and intake areas. You want to listen for the RPMs to change as you move the additional fuel source around. If you find something then shut it off and visually inspect for a line off, cracked or damaged.
