I have a 1960 C10 Step side. Just finished doing a 5.3L swap from a donor 2002 Suburban. I now want to install an A/C system. Does anyone know of an inexpensive system that I can retrofit into my truck?

I have the compressor from the suburban. The condenser did not make it. Looking to retrofit a system. Any ideas?

try vintage air they are online and they may have a retro fit or universal that you can install. You might also try one of the truck online companies like LMC and Brothers or Classic Chevy.

Yes, I have checked with the online truck companies. They are more expensive that what I can afford right now. I am thinking about retrofitting a Nissan or other foreign system in my truck. I have fixed these systems, and they are quite simple. I was trying to get something that is typically used as an alternative rather than try something new.

then try vintage air for a universal model the truck companies may be expensive but they normally fit right in and look awesome in the vehicle like it came from factory. if you have to wait one summer is no big deal. Better than trying to hack something up to fit in unless you are hiding it.

I've done a retrofit on a 66 Chevy Panel using a Classic Auto Air system. Installed real nice and tucked in great. Only issue was one bracket for the pump was drilled wrong for the engine I had. It works like a modern A/C unit as well as it replaces the OEM heater box with one that has heat and AC integrated so you get dehumidified air for defrost.
