Resurfacing brake drum

Here is the attached photo.My drum more or less looks like that.

Leaves the traces in the drum.

Most places will turn the drum using a tapered arbor on either side of the hole. The will center up in the cast iron, not the races.

You mean"leave the bearing's races in the drum"
not the traces,right?
It sound like you say that i can leave the traces of grease and dust
in the drum,instead of wash them hands,since the mechanic
that will resurface the drum will do that anyway.
But i assume that it was only printing error,right?

BTW, i am going to do resurfacing,because when i pull the handbrakes,one brake drum
is not stop the rear wheel well as the other brake drum on the other rear wheel, even though i install new brake shoes. so i guess i must do resurfacing for the specific drum.

Normally, the shop will clean off the drums before the machining is performed. (They are used to dirty stuff showing up).

They won't mind if you do it! If so, "Purple Power" works really well on cleaning oil and grease if it's available to you.

Leave the races in the drum. If for some reason they are in the way, the shop will probably remove them.

It is the norm to resurface the drums/rotors on the same axle (both sides of the vehicle). I'm saying either both of the fronts or both of the rears, not just one. The same goes for shoe/pad replacement, do both sides, not just the one that is completely worn out.

The handbrake issue could be that one of the cables might be seized or getting close to it. Sometimes, it's as simple as the shoes are not adjusted out close to the drum or even the self adjusters are worn or rusted and are not constantly adjusting the slop/ play/ gap from between the shoes and the drum.
