Blown head gasket?

If the water is boiling out to the overflow tank then it is overheating. Your temp sensor may be bad or if the water boils in the block you wont get an accurate reading as that puts air and not water around the sensor.

If it is still doing this with the thermostat out then I would do a flow test on the radiator. That may be plugged.

Simply take the upper and lower radiator hoses off the radiator. Then put a garden hose in the fill hole. Put the hose in with no nozzle, just an open hose so you get full flow from it.

Turn the hose on all the way, if you get water coming back out of the fill hole where the hose is or out of the upper hose hole then the radiator needs to be replaced.

I was advised by more than 3 individuals that I might be having blown gasket and was in denial. but I think after this information I have to send car in for a head work.

I have skimmed my head and replace it with a new head gasket, but still it overheats.

Did you get it crack tested? radiator should be core cleaned not just flushed, new thermostat and ensure that the cooling system has been bleed of air totally.

it has had a crack test and a new thermostat new radiator, but still when drive it for twenty miles it overheats. Also, all my antifreeze boiled out of my reservoir bottle.

Get a head check done this is a simple chemical test to check for exhaust gas in the cooling system if this is so you still have a head problem to deal with. do this check and let me know what you find any mechanic can do.

I bought this truck a couple months back. The guy had put a remanufactured engine in it. After he had it a while he had to replace the head gasket. Well I have been driving it about a month and noticed it was losing water and overheating. Then three days ago it started mixing with the oil real quickly. I tore the engine down, took the head off. After removing the head I noticed that the head gasket had coolant ports blocked on three cylinders and the water was forced to go to cylinders and into the oil. I thought it may be the wrong gasket but everyone I look at are the same as the one I took off. What is going on? I know those ports are there for a reason. Why are these ports blocked? In the picture you can see the water trying to blow through the gasket. Thanks

your pic didn't turn out . some ports may be blocked for a reason but was the gsket put on upside down? is the head and block flat?was the head bolts tightened correctly ? all these can effect it.

Well a cracked piston is not good this will require a full rebuild or another engine

No it wasn't put on upside down. It can only go one way. Head and block seem flat. Bolts were tighten correctly. The coolant was starting to blow holes through the gasket where it had them blocked at. I don't understand why they would be ports on both the block and head if coolant didn't suppose to go through them

it's done that way because engines are made for different vehicles and some may not need that cooling in it. I think you ought to check this over more carefully for a crack or something similar. torque on bolts shold be as follows

then additional 80-85 degrees

Changed head gasket, put it back together start it up would not idle. replaced TPS, MAF, OXS, check timing marks. it idles now but re stab distributor and oil pump can only get it on timing marks with a light but distributor bolt holes are not lined up so can't lock down distributor.

If you have it running but can't get the distributor locked down because if its position, then you most likely have the distributor one tooth off.

What I want you to try is removing and replacing the distributor. Here are the directions specific to your vehicle for doing this. The two attached pictures correlate with these directions:

REMOVAL
1. Remove the screws securing the distributor cap and remove the cap.
2. Remove the bolt securing the distributor.
3. Disconnect the crank angle sensor connector and remove the distributor.

INSTALLATION

1. Turn the engine over until #1 cylinder (front) is at TDC compression stroke.

2. Install the distributor, making sure the rotor is aligned as shown when fully seated.
3. Install the distributor securing bolt and tighten slightly.
4. Connect the crank angle sensor terminal.
5. Install the distributor cap and tighten the screws.
6. Refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES and adjust the timing.
