Reprogramming Crankshaft Position Sensor

On my vehicle listed above, I've had all of the symptoms of a failing cam/crankshaft sensor (bad mileage, loss of power, erratic fuel gage, rich exhaust, etc.). So, I have decided to replace both sensors. I know that you don't have to program the camshaft sensor, but I've read that you do have to train the camshaft sensor. I don't have the Scan II tool and don't want to go to a garage for something so silly if I don't have to. I've read that I might be able to remove the battery cables, one or the other, for some time and/or remove the PCM fuse/relay. Has anyone had this issue or found a solution to this? Or do I even need to program the crankshaft sensor? Also, is that the Power train Control Module sensor? Please help! With gas getting higher and higher, I'm getting desperate!
