Replacing timing chain

I am replacing the timing chain and gears. I have been following the Haynes manual, but I missed a step. Before removing old chain and gears it says to set number one at TDC which I did. My problem is it said to rotate it 360 degrees before removing the chain which I did not do. It says number four must be at TDC to Install the new chain and gears. I am at number one TDC. What do I do? Please help

If it is still at number one TDC and neither the cam, balance shaft or crank has moved you can install the chain and gears just the way it sets at the moment. Then slowly rotate it 360 and verify the marks line up on number four. Make sure the balance shaft timing marks line up as well.

I will try that. Thank you. It should run right and timing be right then? Just out of curiosity, why does it say number four needs to be at TDC?

Just making it more difficult. Actually it has to do with the way they are assembled on the production line.

As long as the timing marks all line up it will be okay.
