How difficult is it to just replace the rod bearings if they have play in them?

We replaced the chain as it had a bit of noise, we still have some noise coming from the bottom of the engine. This is the 2.5 sky active engine.

It is not too bad to do the rod bearing. You will need to remove the oil pan first, which I have included the instructions for in the images below.

for the SkyActiv-G 2.5L engine commonly found in the 2015 Mazda 6, the connecting rod bolt torque is typically around 33-38 lb-ft (45-52 Nm)

That is the balance shaft assembly. Here are the instructions on how to remove it. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
