Replacing intake manifold

Here are the step by step instructions from the factory on the removal and installation of new spark plugs, and nowhere does it say anything about removing and then reinstalling the intake manifold. Please go through this guide, and if you still want the instructions for the removal and installation(with torque specs) of the intake manifold, we will be more than happy to provide them to you.

I just figured the spark plugs are underneath the intake manifold. because I'm changing my distributor to and the spark plug wires are leading underneath the intake manifold and I can't see the back three spark plugs at all. can you still give me directions and torque specifications on removing and installing intake manifold? thank you very much you guys are always great.

Thank you very much for all your good answers. I'm going to attempt to do the work today when I'm installing new gaskets on the intake manifold. do I use gasket glue or not? I'm pretty sure I don't and when I put the new distributor in do I have to go get the timing reset like you had to do on the cars 30 years ago?

I'm not sure if your vehicle has dowels for the intake manifold or not. Some RTV to tack it down probably wouldn't hurt, just make sure not to put too much on so it doesn't seal properly. In the diagrams down below I have included the sequence and torque values for each fastener in the intake manifold for you as well. Disregard the number in (*) for the torque values, these are Newtonmeters. Please let us know how it turns out.

A couple days ago I I asked for the specifications to retorque my intake manifold on a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus 2.5 engine and you sent me back a note saying according to your manual you don't have to take off the intake manifold. well I'll send you pictures and you can see for yourself the back three spark plugs or underneath the intake manifold and that's going to send you some pictures to show you.

Here are a couple more pictures showing spark plug wires going right underneath the intake manifold. so I do have to take the intake manifold off to change the back three spark plugs. if you can please send me the torque specs on how to tighten the bolts when I installed the intake manifold thank you so much. it's a 2000 Chrysler Sierra 2.5 engine model LXI.

I have included all the information that you requested in the diagrams down below. When tightening the intake manifold bolts always start from the middle bolts and work your way to the outside bolts alternating from side to side. The idea here is to start in the middle and flatten the manifold out to the sides, just like smoothing out a table cloth. Please keep us informed as to how everything turns out.
