I have removed the black plastic piece that houses the heating core, and I am wondering if I remove that, will I be able to access and replace the evaporator core without removing the whole dash? If so, what is the best way to attack this?

Hi,

You could try, but if I remember correctly, the entire module assembly needs to be removed to gain full access to the evaporator.

Here is what I suggest. I am going to provide the directions from my manual. Before taking everything apart, see if you can remove both the upper and lower case covers and truly gain access.

If you can't, the suspect if all needs removed. See pics below for directions specific to this vehicle.

Let me know if this helps

Take care,

Joe
