So I've have the vehicle listed above 1.3CDTi MK5 and it was having a check engine light code reading p0107. I tried to follow some YouTube tutorials on how to check if you have a bad boost pressure sensor but most had tutorials for 3 wired sensors whilst mine is 4 wires.

I tried having a go and seeing if I could find ground, power and signal but I think it was a little beyond my capabilities. I did a resistance test and gathered around 5 Ohms on the sensor. I'm not sure if this was correct for this type of sensor but watching a tutorial, a guy was repairing his Mazda and he said his standard measured around 5 Ohms whilst the turbo version measured around 15.

So I decided to replace the boost pressure sensor with a new one. I erased the codes and started the car but the check engine light came back with the same error code. Is there anything else I can do to test/fix it?

Thanks

Hi,

The code is specific to the MAP sensor. It sounds like you already replaced it. I have to be honest, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so I have little technical info. However, you do need to check the sensor's output voltage. I don't have the specs for that. However, if you can get them, that is what needs checked. If there is no output or the output is not within the manufacturer's specs, then either there is a connection issue or there is an issue with the ECM.

Make sure there is no corrosion at the connector. Also, make sure the pins in the connector are not pushed in or damaged. Note that this code is specific to low voltage, so it is very possible there is simply a poor connection

I wish I could be more helpful. However, I hope something I suggested helps.

Take care and let me know if you have other questions.

Hi Joe,

Sorry for not responding sooner, the email notification went into my junk folder. I've got the owner's manual and one of the Haynes manual for the car but can't seem to find any specifications for it or online. I will give emailing Vauxhall a go and see if they can get it. From videos online that I've seen, most seem to have 3 pin connectors and mine has 4. Most YouTube videos also suggested using paper clips to test the connection and they are able to push them in but I am unable to do that.

I have checked the pins and connection and both seem to be okay. Can't see any that are bent. Will update with Vauxhall if I hear back from them.

Thanks

Take care,

Just an update for anyone who comes across this in future. There was a split in the pipe connecting from the turbo to actuator(?)*. I took it to my local garage and they said they put smoke through the system and found 2 splits in the pipe and it seems fine now to them. Picking it up tomorrow

Will ask again for specifically what it was as I can't remember.
