I brought my car to the mechanic, and they told me the codes were for a knock sensor spark plugs and a new battery. Then I received a call today saying that the car wouldn’t start after replacing parts and I need a new motor. How is this possible? Could they have messed something up it wasn’t a difficult job after researching it.

I would take the car to another shop to see what happened. Did you drive the car in? Did the engine make noise when it ran? I need more details.

I drove the car in. I initially thought maybe it was the fuel pump or a clogged fuel line because of how it was driving. There were no noises coming from it at all and as soon as it started running funny I had it in the shop the next day.

Can you upload a short video of the engine cranking over so I can hear it? this way I can tell if the engine is hurt or not.

I don’t currently have my vehicle because they told me it won’t start at all.
I will be having it towed to my home tomorrow.

So, I just went down with my spare key, and it is trying to turn over sounds like it needs a jump. No grinding or weird noises. Sounds to me like an alternator maybe a starter.

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on.. You can upload it here with your response.
