Replaced A/C Compressor, condenser, drier and now the A/C clutch stays engaged after turning it off?

When I removed the old compressor, I found that the power wire going to the AC clutch's insulation had melted off. I replaced the above items, vacuumed down and recharged the system. A/C working except that when I turn A/C off on the switch, the A/C Clutch stays engaged and turning.

Yep, this happens when HVAC controller goes out. To be sure we should do a CAN scan. You can get a CAN scanner from Amazon for about $30.00.

If the scan says it is bad, install a new unit. This car has an internal compressor valve. How can you tell if the compressor is engaged if there is no clutch?
