The engine light came on, I checked the error and got P2A00 code. Among other fixes, I try to understand how to replace the oxygen sensor, if faulty.
Thank you.

Good evening

I attached possible failure for the code for you. In most cases, it is the sensor but should be confirmed by someone with a scan tool that can monitor live data.

P2A00
Descriptor
Probable Causes
Air Fuel (A/F) Ratio Sensor 1
Poor Connections or Loose Terminals At Air Fuel (A/F) Sensor 1 and Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

A/F Sensor Replacement

Special Tools Required

- O2 sensor wrench, Snap-on S3176, or equivalent, commercially available
1. Disconnect the A/F sensor 4P connector (A), then remove the A/F sensor (B).

2. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Thank you. Can you, please, identify for me (part #, commercial name) the protective covers of the catalytic converter? Where can I buy them? I noticed that they are rusted and don't hold together anymore.

OK, it is called the upstream O2 sensor or the air/fuel ratio sensor.

The part number come from a parts store.

The shield is not available by itself. You would need to replace the cat converter to get the shield.

I attached parts available from rockauto.
