Replace Intercooler Turbo Boost hose?

Hi, the dealership found a leaky hose passenger (right) after intercooler. Saw a YouTube video on replacement looks pretty straight forward and accessible. Video went through wheel well to reach intercooler connection, but it looks to me to be easier to go through bottom.

Anyone have any experience or advice? I ordered the OE hose for $85 from FCP Euro, dealership wants $1,000 to do the work. You tube makes it look like it takes 30 minutes, basically one hose snap connection on each end.

Hi,

I would be happy to help with specific directions. However, there are several different hoses/tubes related. Were they specific in which one needed to be replaced?

Take a look at the pic below. It lists the different ones that could be the problem. Let me know if you see the specific one involved.

I attached the directions below. In pic 2, I highlighted the downstream hose which I believe is what you are referring to.

Take a look at the pic and let me know. That appears to be the one in the link you sent me of the part you ordered.

Hi Joe, the original indicator of a problem was two P101 faults and engine light. The reader I have does not seem to get some detailed codes. MB dealership diagnosed the car and wrote: "2633 2624 Air Mass passed test. Found split in boost hose RH side."

I replaced the hose, bottom access was the way to go, and could clear the P101 stored faults, but they kept coming back. I tried disconnecting the battery cables and shorting them together for 20 min. Now I only have one P101 code.

Not sure why that backyard mechanic trick did not work, is there an affordable code reader that can clear all the codes? The diagnostic cost $185. Maybe I can find a less expensive alternative source.

As far as a scan tool, check on Amazon. They have a lot to choose from. Just make sure it is compatible with Mercedes. Also, if you can get one that can read CAN-bus codes, it would be more beneficial for you.

I went through two different manuals and can't find any of the codes you mentioned. I did find P0101 which is a MAF code, but it isn't listed for your vehicle. I wonder if they are providing partial code so you can't fix it.
