1998 Renault Scenic oil leacking in the water cooler

have the headgasket rechecked

we took the car back and they took the thermsat out and told us run like that and to bring it back in the winter. a few days later we had to put water in the car as we did we noice there was freash oil in the water. we took the car back now there saying the block gone on it. it cost us £470.00 so far should we pay any more for it they should of seen this problem what do you thinks wrong with it.

I would think they mean the head is bad ? (warped/bent/cracked) very unusual for a block to crack, unles you really really overheated the engine ?? .. if the head is indeed bad they should have caught this on the first headgasket replacement .. I would have a second opinion before condeming the car ??
