Having had a flat battery, i charged up said battery.

Connected up Positive and then Negitive to find that only item working was windscreen wipers at full speed and no other electrics working?????

2001 laguina 1.8 16v

Sounds like you have not connected all the wires back correctly .. please recheck .. and reply if mre info needed with more details
