2005 Renault Megane Two Wheel Drive Manual 38000 miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I've had the car serviced in Feb. and the coils changed in Apr. and this still occurs.
Intermittently, the car won't start or starts but won't rev beyond 3500 RPM. When the car starts but won't rev, I can drive as normal but when driving power just bleeds beyond about 2500RPM and acceleration completely stops at about 2750 to 3000 RPM.
I've noticed this seems to occur most frequently when the engine is hot, or has been on/off recently beforehand. Sometimes turning off the engine, and removing the key, then restarting will fix the issue, however the longer this has gone on, the less likely this is to fix the issue!
As mentioned, I've had the car serviced (relatively recently) and the coils changed (Renault asssured me that this was the cause of the problem and it's a known issue with Meganes), however these did not sort the problem.
By the way, the 'service' light and the engine light are now constantly on, and I get the 'Check Injection' message on the mileage display when the problem is occurring.
I initially put the problem down to dirty petrol, however it's gone on a bit long and had a few people looking at it with no results for my liking.
Anyone any ideas on causes of this?
