It sounds like you have a voltage surge or you connected the jumpers backwards. Start by checking the fuses and fusible links here is a guide to help you get started.

Please let us know what happens.

The computer tells me that my car needs servicing i.e. oil change, I had this done recently at my local garage for less than a quarter of the price the main agents wanted but they could not reset the computer. The flashing spanner symbol is beginning to get on my nerves is there any away I can stop this flashing.

Have a look at your speedo and you should see a little black stalk sticking out at the bottom towards the right.

Make sure you are seeing the 'service requried' or 'change oil soon' message by using the button on the end of the wiper stalk then press and hold the little black stalk on the speedo.

It might take a bit ot pressure to depress the stalk (mine did) and keep holding it down. Keep holding - you will first see the message flash and then (keep holding) it will reset.

Did this to mine yesterday and it resets both messages (i.e fresh service interval comes up) and it gets rid of that annoying flashing spanner.

you need to have the vehicle plugged into a computer to have the cars ECU reset. Here is a video to show you how

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
