hiya wonder if you can help. I've got a renault Megane on a 52 plate (not face lift model ) and the problem that I've got is that last year I got it gassed by a so called professional who said that he knew what he was doing, but 2 weeks later all the gas had leaked how. So for the last year I've been running the car without the aircon been gassed up and a couple of weeks ago the engine started making a noise vwhich seems to be coming from the aircon compressor. I've changed the aux belt ,tensioner ,idle pulley and power steering pump but to no vale. The noise is only there when the engine is just off idle and if i remove the aux belt the engine sounds sweet. could you tell me whether running the car with the aircon ungased could cause the compressor to rattle but not all the time (it sounds like there is a small piece of metal somewhere)
