hi.i have a renault laguna 1.9 dci estate which blew the turbo.i have fitted a new turbo but car is very smoky(white smoke, strong smell of unburnt fuel) and it wont rev past 3000rpm.i have a feeling it could be a faulty sensor but dont know where to start. i have purchased a diagnostic tool to read fault codes but have not yet received it. does anyone have any ideas as where to look for problem?
thanks

A sensor will not cause the vehicle to smoke ! check you have everything connected correctly .. the new turbo is all hooked up and all wiring connectors and vacuum lines are connected ... the vehicle is in limp mode and needs resetting .. your diagnostic tool should do this .. read the codes .. write them down .. and delete the codes .. this resets the computer and takes it out of limp mode .. start the vehicle and run .. check which fault codes have returned .. repost with you findings !

hi, used the diagnostic tool and wrote down all the errors then cleared them. this did not solve problem. i decided to replace the catalytic converter as it could have got blocked from all the oil from the turbo. this solved the problem and is running perfectly again. thanks for the info!!! i will keep posting on this site if i encounter any more problems!
