Just bought the car above yesterday and at time and after short spin, the engine actually sounded really quiet and almost purring.
I had a long'ish journey home, approximately 200 miles and when I got back, although the performance had been great all the way, the engine is now quite tappety and worried I may have got an expensive dog.
It was pretty much sold as seen, so won't have much re course so I am very hopeful you may have some good news as to what the very minor issue may be.
More improtantly, I am in no way a mechanic and as I will have to take it to one, I am hoping I can at least avoid the most expensive repair they can think of!
