1998 Renault Espace renault vs renault

i have a renault espace 2.2 diesel 1998,i cannot get a repair manual for it,however i wondered if the renault laguna "of equivelant year" 2.2 diesel has the same engine as the espace? as when i looked at the laguna manual the engine "appeared" to be the same (appart from the oil filler cap) is this true?and does the espace share other parts with the laguna? ie suspention,steering components etc.
