Car recently (june 09) had major service at Renault at 19884 miles, only now at 20200 miles. Car will not start, no sound at all (e.g. no clicking of starter motor, or turn of engine). Used jump leads to start and left running on drive for 20 minutes just in case battery low/ discharged (could have left courtesy light on over night), when tried to drive off, some warning lights remain illuminated (Stop, ABS, Service light etc.) and engine sounds as though trying to stop car (no hand brake etc. left on!). If I turn engine off, it will not re-start unless jump leads used to do so.

Any ideas what the problem may be?

start by replacing the battery .. if this does not cure the fault, the car needs plugging into a diagnostic computer to locate thje cause of the fault !
