Hi, The needle on my speedometer is working in fits and spurts. The needle will register my speed normally and then it will swing down to 0 km/hr for any number of minutes and then work normally again. Is it a problem with the computer in clock or a loose cable?

check the wiring to VSS ... and/or replace the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) located on the gearbox housing. Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is bolted (by 1 small bolt) to the rear of the gearbox and wires going to it ! your local autoparts store will supply a repair manual with instructions and diagrams
