i drive a renault clio 99.1.2.i keep topping it up with coolant.then engine over heats temp gage hits red. i stop.but coolant is still same.whats wrong could it be termostat.

could be thermostat could also be water pump .. check you are getting circulation ... if your geting a slight circulation your thermostat is probably stuc .. no circulation means pump i'm afraid ...
