Hi,

My van came with a full multimedia system including a Video Cassette Player. Although originally designed to be removable, it is actually locked in place to prevent theft.

How is it locked and how do I remove it. I want to replace it with a DVD or Blu-ray played.

Thanks,
Ken

Hi,

To the best of my knowledge, there are no locks. Is it something that was added? Here are the directions I have for removal, but I feel you already did this. See if they help and let me know.

Thanks for getting back to me.

The lock appears to be OEM I'm guessing, as there is a Ford anti-theft sticker attached to face of the Daewoo VCP. Saying that 'This device is not removable'

Like you, i haven't been able to find any information on it, so not sure how to continue.

Will check under vehicle for a bolt or remove center console cowling, more likely there's

Thanks anyway,
Ken

If I recall, there were anti theft screws that are to be removed by the dealer when it was new. Interestingly, if you look at pic 1, it says it need taken to a dealer if it won't release. Ugh!

Let me know if you find the solution.
