Relearn throttle body

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

First, here is a link that shows exactly how to clean a throttle body. Take a look through it and confirm everything was done properly.

Next, if everything looks good, my first suspect is that you have by accident created a vacuum leak. Here is a link that shows how to find a leak:

Pay attention to vacuum hoses to confirm they aren't disconnected or torn. Also, reconfirm that the air intake tube to the throttle body is fully installed and not allowing unmetered air to enter the engine.

Thanks for your help.
I just tried to relearn the throttle body but the issue is still there.
Do i need to reset the ECU with Ford software? if yes, what is the scanner that has ability to do it?

Happy to help, but the only time a relearn is required is when the throttle body is replaced and requires no scanner. Here is what is done:

If the TB (Throttle Body) was replaced, turn the key "on" without cranking the engine for one minute to allow the PCM to learn the adaptive table values for the new TB (Throttle Body).

I did not replace the TB, but what i did is i pushed the TB plate (butterfly valve) with my finger due to i want to clean the inside of throttle.
With what i did, do i need to calibrate the TB?

Hello there,

I just cameback from Ford service center to fix my car. they suspect it is the ECU was broken, but when we did scan there is no DTC detected.
Is it possible that the problem from the ECU software? We have tried to borrow the ECU, instrument panel and key from another car with same model and the problem solved.
Advise please?

If that took care of the problem, it is most likely the ECU. They should be able to test yours.

What kind of test that we can do?

If it is at a Ford Dealership, they should have test equipment to use which can determine if certain components are functioning or operating within the manufacturer's specs. They need to watch how the PCM (power-train control module) tries to adjust for the idle issue. However, you said parts were switched from a different vehicle and it worked. That really only leaves the PCM. (i believe you referred to it as an ECU so I called it the same in my last post, but it is a PCM).

If the PCM was broken,,the check light should be on, right? And when scan the car,it will be detected by the scanner as fault,right?

Welcome back, and don't worry, you can come back as many times as you need.

In a perfect world, one would think it would turn the light on. However, the PCM may not even realize it is broken. That is the problem. There are different scenarios that can cause a false positive. In other words, something is wrong, but appears to be functioning normally and not recognized as a problem.
