Hello i bought this car in February, had it for a week and in shop, got it out a week later and drove it, check engine light came on with code P2C07, took it back in they didn’t have the problem happen again after a week of having it, went and picked it up, drove it home the decided to drive it to my wife’s grandparents and 10 mins down the road same problem with new code P2C0E and P2C0F, had shuttering and not drivable, towed it back there again and the decided to change the camshaft profile actuator, got it back so I had this truck literally 3 weeks out of 2 months and now the check engine light came on again today this time for a P2C17 and P2C18. It’s a 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 2.7l turbo. Any help would be much appreciated

There is a TSB on this truck for the wiring or connector problem in the engine harness, not a bad engine. GM has a bulletin for 2019-2022 Silverado/Sierra trucks with the 2.7L L3B that specifically says these trucks can set a wide range of DTCs, run rough, lose power, or become barely drivable because the engine harness chafes on under hood components. So I would check the engine wiring harness for damage, also, I would clear the codes, shut the system off then turn the system back on again without string the engine and then run the codes again to see which ones comes up. This can tell us the main problem that is causing the other codes. Let me know what you find. Ken

Here are what the codes mean.

P2C07 - A Camshaft Profile Actuator Position Sensor A Circuit Low
P2C0E - A Camshaft Profile Actuator Position Sensor C Range/Performance
P2C0F - A Camshaft Profile Actuator Position Sensor C Circuit Low
P2C17 - B Camshaft Profile Actuator Position Sensor B Range/Performance
P2C18 - B Camshaft Profile Actuator Position Sensor B Circuit Low.

When the engine is cold does it make a slight rattle noise at the front of the engine when it is cold? If so the timing chain, guides and camshaft actuators are worn out, this is common and they sell a kit to fix this. These codes come up when the camshafts are in the wrong position when the engine is running due to "slop" in the timing chain system. I would make sure the engine oil is full and clean, if the engine is low on oil or it is dirty (worn out) it can cause this issue as well. Let me know wat you find please.

That is a good sign, if the oil is dirty change it out along with the filter ands then clear the codes. Let me know what happens.

The P037C points to the glow plug control circuit, so please start a new thread for this problem. we only handle one problem per thread, please post your new question here, you must be logged in.
