Hello everyone.

I am an owner of the car listed above it has the petrol engine. I have the following questions, as I am about to perform an oil change.

1. What oil viscocity do you suggest? Manufacturer recommends 5W-30 oil for temperatures above -20C. Problem is that the manual puts a limit to 5W-30 oil's maximum operating temperature at +30C and here in Greece it's always hotter than +30C in the summer, or at least close to it. Should I stick to 5W-30 or I should go to 10W-40 for both winter and summer?

2. What ACEA rating you think is the most suitable to my car? I know that both ACEA A and ACEA C are available. Will ACEA A slowly poison my catalytic converter or that is not much of a deal?

3. Do you have any reccomendations about the oil filter's brand?

Thank you in advance.

Your engine operates at around +100C normally so I would not worry about the "maximum" they have listed. I would run a quality 5W-30 unless it shows a problem.
As for the rating, catalytic safe is the way to go. Consider that to replace the catalytic converters on that vehicle is not cheap.

Filter wise. Hard to say as I'm in the US but Wix, Parker, Mann, Delco all make good filters.

That was what I was about to do, until I called Suzuki. They insisted that 10W-40 seni-synthetic was the only way to go for my engine. An 5W-30 oil is too thin for me and it's going to be burned, that's what they said. So I decided to trust them and order a Motul 6100 Synergie+ 10W-40 combined with a Mann oil filter. We'll see.
