Rear seal removal

Okay, that ring is behind that other ring around the spindle is that part of it too. Can i just cut the ring that is loose?

Both those pieces of the bearing/seal need to come off.The part on the shaft is somewhat press fit.You might want to use some type of a puller tool you can rent at an auto parts store for removal.That piece that is stuck is part of the bearing assembly.After removal the seal will just slip off.Hope this helps and feel free to ask any further questions if needed.Thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Got it off. There was two pieces on the shaft an one in the hub. Just now got the first one done. Do have a question. I tighten the spindle ring and brought it back 10 clicks the wheel spun better than bringing it back 8 clicks. Should it be easy to spin or a little tough. I reused the bearings they were fine and not burnt. And the rings for the bearings was not pitted or rigged. Sorry don't know the terms for all parts.

Yes, should spin freely but not have any drag.Long as there is no free play.Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Thanks. looks like i have to bring it back some more it seems like it still has drag. Drag means it feels like it is being slightly held by brakes. Figuratively speaking. Right?

After 3 days the one wheel is still leaking and i used the national seals. Not as much as prior but still leaking. Should i get a new seal or is there another problem?

It's possible you did get a defective seal.It happens sometimes.Just be sure not to damage upon installation thus creating a leak. Bummer that you have to do repair again.I'm having an issue like that now with my steering column. Grr ! Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
