The hatch close button on the hatch does not work and is not lit. I replaced the button and still have the same problem. The open/close button on the drivers door is lit but will only open the hatch. the open/close button on the key fob will only open the hatch. The 40 amp fuse (#40) in the rear fuse block is OK. where do I go from here?

More than likely this is the rear end closing module. It is responsible for opening and closing the liftgate and monitoring it to ensure it is in the correct angle. If the switch is working then the module would be the likely cause.

The way to confirm this is to check voltage on the circuits highlighted in the wiring diagrams. Please see below for this information and the guide for more info on how to do this.
