How do you get the panel off rear hatch if you cannot open the rear window or the hatch to repair the door?

Hello, I'm Danny,
That has always been a problem when door handles/latches break and you can't open the door.Best way is to try using a slim jim or tool to try to manipulate the latch to get it open.Usually or doors you can use slim jim to unlatch the rods/linkage put a lift gate is much more difficult.Good luck.Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

No idea how to get a slim jim in that spot. I can't believe they created a vehicle without a safety feature to open the hatch.

Hello again,
Yes, we can thank engineers for this.We also have to get creative when someone breaks the hood release handle and we have to pop the hood to get access to the engine.Side doors not so bad but the rear hatch (like your) and the hood are the worst.
