Rear driver turn signal bulb out, both tail lights do not work

Little update:

After taking a light tester to the connector, I found that there was no juice. Started following the wires and found that a rat had gotten in the jack storage compartment somehow and chewed up a light blue wire. Not sure if that wire is the taillights or brake/turn signal. I'll splice it tomorrow and go from there.

I wonder why the wire color is different. Here's a picture of the damaged wire (there may be more, I haven't gotten too deep into it yet).

Well hmm, if I zoom in real close, it looks like a green wire might be damaged, too. The light blue wire is missing a 4 or 5 inch section, so there's no question there.

Thanks, Danny. After digging deeper, that was the tip of the iceberg. There were several other wires behind the wall panel that had been severed by the little bugger. Overall, I think there were nine different wires and 13 or 14 different splices that I had to do (some were chewed up in multiple places far apart from each other).

After I did all the patches and the connections were made everything was back to normal. I think it took about four hours overall and a little cursing, but beats paying the repair bill.
