Rear door handle not working

the interior door handle will not work to open the door. the exterior handle does work to open the door. what is the problem? thanks

More then likely the cable or rod that connects the door handle to the latch has come off or broken. We need to remove the door panel to test the handle and see if the rod is moving the latch. Here is the process on how to remove the panel so that you can see what is going on.
