I had an error code, bad camshaft sensor, and I replaced the one I knew of on the front right side of the engine. I was told by the parts dealer that there are two sensors, but he could not tell on the engine diagram where it was.

question 1: where is the rear sensor located?
question 2: is it the same sensor part (i.e. same part as the front sensor)?
question 3: can I get to it to replace with simple tools and without a lift?

Thanks!

Hello,

You can do it yourself without a lift. The sensor is located at the rear of the cylinder head on the intake side. Here is a guide that will help show you what you are in for when doing the job.

Thanks so much, just to confirm, is it the same sensor? Also, how do I know if the error code is for the intake or exhaust camshaft sensor? Car engine is running fine..
