I have been replacing my own brakes since I could drive. First time on this car and could not get rear drum on, after an hour and some light tapping with a hammer I got it on and now is too tight. Holds car back in idle. Adjusted in as far could go and I cannot figure out why it is such a problem to get the drum on. Never had this problem before. Only started with drivers rear, have not changed passenger as the two screws gaulded fast and stripped out. Only thing I seen on internet spoke of e-brake and most that tried said it didn't work.

It sounds like you have an adjuster that is the wrong size, wrong shoes, or the parking brake applied.
