Rear Blinker Failure?

When utilizing the right blinker, the rear passenger light doesn’t light up. Additionally, the blinker on the instrument cluster blinks rapidly. The light also doesn’t work when using the hazards. The light is functional when using the brake or running lights. I replaced the light with no luck. My assumption is the relay is bad, but I can’t locate the relay to replace.

Hi,

There isn't an independent fuse or relay for the signals. Each light is controlled by the body control module located on the passenger side interior kick panel.

I attached a pic below showing the power supply. I have a question. Does the vehicle have factory LED lamps or are they a traditional incandescent lamp? I ask because if it has LED, the brake lamp shouldn't work. If it is non-LED lamps, the signal is separate.

Let me know that. Also, let me know if you checked for power at the tail lamp socket. Also, let me know if you have replaced all affected bulbs. The fast flash you see is an indicator that there is a bulb not working.

Hi Joe. I checked the power on the socket on the rear passenger with a multimeter and was t getting anything. The vehicle is equipped with incandescent bulbs. All the other bulbs are working. This bulb works aside from the blinking, turn signal and hazards. I don’t have the vehicle with me currently, but I will check on that fuse this afternoon. Thanks. Kevin

Let me know what you find. Kevin, the power is from the body control module. There isn't a separate fuse for that bulb. If the brake lamps are working, then we need to go to the BCM and see if there is power available.

When you get back, let me know what you find. It may be a good idea to check the connector at the BCM.

Okay. Feeling dumb right now. For grins I replaced the bulb again and it started working as expected. I’m not sure if I had a bad seat initially the first time, I replaced the bulb. Thank you for your help. Something I thought was going to be complex turned out to be simple.
