rear axle bearing replacement

I am replacing the rear axle bearings on my 2500 HD. I am been unable so far to remove the retaining clip that holds the outer bearing. what can I use?

if a snap ring pliers don't work try a hooked tool like a large pic to get behind it to move it so you can get the nut off. or a straight pic end tool to get under the snap ring to move it.
