After replacing manifold gasket I need instructions on how to set the valves

Real, correct, fool proof way to set the valves (rocker arms)needed. After a manifold gasket replacement I am at the point that I need to set the valves. It is a completely stock car.

Good afternoon.

Below is the procedure for valve adjustment.

Roy

Rocker arm and push rod adjustment:

A. Engine should be in number 1 firing position. This may be determined by placing fingers on number 1 rocker arms as crankshaft assembly is rotated. If valves are not moving, engine is in number 1 firing position. If valves move, engine is in number 4 firing position and should be rotated one revolution to reach number 1 position.

B. With engine in number 1 firing position, following valves should be adjusted:
Exhaust - 1, 2, 3
Intake - - 1, 5, 6

C. Tighten adjusting nut until there is zero lash + one (1.0) turn.
This can be determined by rotating pushrod while turning adjusting nut.
When lash has been removed, turn adjusting nut in one (1.0) turn (to center lifter plunger).

D. Crank engine one revolution. This is number 4 firing position. With engine in this position, following valves should be adjusted to zero lash + one (1.0) turn:
Exhaust - 4, 5, 6
Intake - - 2, 3, 4

That is done but I cannot find directions for installing the plenum onto the intake manifold. Specifically, does the gasket between them go on dry or with gasket sealer of some sort? Also, is there a torque sequence for the plenum? I saw that the lower manifold was 22 ft pounds and it had a sequence to tighten the bolts and studs. I know the plenum is 18 ft pounds but what if any is the sequence recommended?

No gasket sealer at all. Install them dry.

Start all bolts by hand. Torque sequence is center out.
