Do not even bother trying until you get a copy of the manufacturer's service manual. Removing a dash is a big job on any car, and doing so is a real common cause of squeaks and rattles. Most mechanics prefer to leave this job to AC system specialists.

You can also buy a subscription from one of the online services the independent shops use. Those are Mitchell On-Demand and AllData. They have everything you will find in the Toyota manual, plus recall and service bulletin information. They also have listings sometimes for common solutions other people have found.
