Rattle sound and running rough?

Hi,

Is the noise coming from under the vehicle or the engine compartment? If under the vehicle, it could be the inside of the catalytic converter that is loose and blocking airflow. That would cause a power loss and poor running conditions. Take a rubber mallet and tap on the exhaust to see if you can reproduce the sound. Then check to see if it is coming from the converter.

If you hear it from the engine area, first let me know if the check engine light is on. Or check for diagnostic trouble codes and let me know what you find. Here is a link that explains how to get them. You don't need a scanner.

No, the check engine light isn't on, and I checked the codes and nothing is coming for it. I'll have to check the catalytic converter thing tomorrow, but I don't think the noise was coming from that area.
