Sometimes it cranks but wont start on first try. Wait about an hour and starts right up no codes. Changed fuel pump hooked up fuel pressure gauge when it did it and have excellent fuel pressure according to Land Rover. New plugs and wires checked for spark when it just cranks and has excellent spark. Ran diagnostic test with land rover equipment still no codes. My son on law is master tech at land rover and suggested cam position sensor or crank position sensors. They have these problems with the lr3 a lot. Any other suggestions? I have not replaced the sensors yet. Thanks

Since you have a good spark, that suggests the fuel system and also since you have good fuel pressure, that narrows it down to the fuel injectors. Since there are no codes for a crank or cam sensor, I would think that would narrow it down to perhaps a relay feeding the fuel injectors which is the engine control module relay located in the battery junction box.

Bought new relays, no change. Fuel injectors were cleaned by Land Rover. I noticed once when I started it and pushed the key in all the way it fired up. I am thinking it is the ignition switch 185,000 miles could be worn out. Will try that next thank you for your reply I appreciate it!
