A/C intermittently stops working

Hi,

When you say the wipers are in the open position, do you mean they are on? Also, what on the dash was flashing, or was it the entire dash?

Because of the model year, the best thing to do with this type of issue is to have the can-bus scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all the computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. There are likely trouble codes stored in one of the modules. This type of scan will retrieve a code regardless of the module saving it.
