The truck always started and ran good, I pulled into my buddy's driveway to change the transmission filter after I changed the filter went to go on test drive it has no spark and no power to coil unless the negative battery terminal is off. I changed the crankshaft position sensor, the coil, and the pickup in the distributor still no spark.

The only way you can make a circuit is to have a battery in line with the battery terminal off as ken says this just wont happen, however.... if the ignition is on and you make an earth through the test light, you will get a circuit but the globe will act as a resistance, some test lights are LED and will have a green and red light, depending on how they are hooked up an earth path will show with one light and power path will show with the other, can you give some more info on what you are testing with, because i am somewhat confused as well as to what you are doing to get the results you report.
