I got my oil changed at Michel's tires a few months ago. Since then, my radio will randomly shut off and I can not turn it back on myself, it has to come back on itself. Any idea what they did and how to fix it, cost as well? It is only the radio that does this, nothing else in the car acts up.

I can't think of anything they could have done from just a oil change to cause that.As far as what's wrong or how much to fix from the information I have I can't say. When it stops working does the display go out etc?

Yes, it is as if I pressed the power button on the stereo to turn it off. I think they messed with it on purpose to get more business or they accidentally knocked something loose, I do not know.

When it shuts off you would have to check the power and ground to radio to see if your loosing power or ground or have a issue with the radio itself.

Can a regular mechanic check that? Would it be a easy, cheap fix?

Yes a normal shop should be able to handle it. If it is a easy find and not the radio etc shouldn't be that expensive.
