Radio, dome lights, clock, tachometer, trunk lights and key fob stopped working

Hi,

When the radio was unplugged, did everything else work and it just blows the fuse when you reconnected the radio?

If that is the case, was there a problem with the radio prior? Did you check the wiring at the radio to make sure nothing is shorting or the plug isn't bad?

I looked through the wiring schematics. They indicate fuse 8 in the under hood fuse box (20 amp) powers the radio and the lighting you mentioned. So, if everything works until you connect the radio, either you have a wiring issue right at the radio (bad plug, damaged wire) or the radio itself is bad.

Hey Joe. Yes, everything is working now. Radio is still out. The wires are fine. Could not see any damage to the wiring. Car sat for the summer. When parked. The radio worked.

It sounds like something shorted in the radio itself. Ugh!!! You have the same kind of luck I have. I've seen the pins get corroded, bend, and then short at the connector, but if they all look good, the problem is the radio.

I don't know if you need them, but here are the directions for the removal and replacement of the radio. The attached pics correlate with the directions.

REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
2. Remove the center panel.
3. Remove the fitting screws, and slightly pull the audio out from the center console.

4. Disconnect the harness connectors and antenna feeder cord.
5. Remove the audio.
6. Remove the mounting screws and detach the satellite radio unit.

INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
