On most cool days, the radio starts up as normal. However, after running for so long, the radio cuts out and does not provide any sound, no matter what the source. Sometimes the speakers even make a high pitch feedback noise very rarely. Called a dealership and they told me it would be a $1,000.00 job and they planned to replace the unit. Is it possible the radio is overheating or the ground has a poor connection? Unsure what could be causing this issue.

Well I have poked around Prodemand and ALLData and just not seeing anything real helpful here. I have had radios that would cut out when the heat had been on for a while. so I would ask if it does it when the heat is off? If not, then it is likely getting overheated. You could try pulling the system out and adding some sort of insulation to try and keep it from being affected by the heat.

You might also check and make sure that your battery terminals are super tight. Running the heat/AC and the radio could be too much load for the system with loose terminals. It is a very long shot, but an easy thing to check.
