I disconnected the negative cable on the battery to change the crankshaft position sensor, now the radio is on constantly and the radio display reads "diagnosis" and does not function.

Hi,

When power is removed from the radio, it needs a specific code to work again. The code will be in the vehicle's owner's manual and is specific to your vehicle. There should be an actual radio code card. It will actually be a small business card size code card.

If you look at the attachment below, it provided the directions for recoding the radio.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Joe, I called the dealer and gave my VIN they advised this year and model does not have a radio code and I must bring the car into the dealer. I feel there needs to be another way to fix this, obviously the dealer is going to do something.

Hi,

There should be one. At least according to my manual. What are they recommending? Did you check in the manual?

Update: I disconnected the negative cable from the battery for 30 minutes and then reconnected it, the message is gone and the radio works fine. Now I need to know if I can change the runner arms without removing the complete intake manifold. It seems I should be able to remove the components on the front of the engine to get to them and change and update the mechanism. Have any of you done this?

Hi,

That is good news about the radio. As far as the runner, I need you to start a new thread for that topic. We try to keep the threads specific to one topic so it is more helpful to others.

I hope you understand. Here is the link to start a new thread. Just copy and paste your question above and someone will help.

Take care and I'll watch for your new thread.
