My radio just stop working now all I hear is static and very little sound coming from the front speakers. It keeps making this sound like there's a shortage somewhere what should I do? I think I could probably fix this myself if I had a little help or knew where to look for the problem.

GM has seen fit to no longer allow us to buy radio service manuals since the '95 model year. They want you to be tied to the dealer and their two grossly over-priced repair centers. There's nothing inside the radio you're going to fix yourself. For the poor reception you can look at the antenna connection but that won't affect the speakers.
